About us

We serve 35 square miles with an estimated population of 19,000 people. Moores Mill operates 4 stations.  We are dispatched by County Fire Dispatch which operates inside Huntsville-Madison County 911 center. This allows us to reduce response times since the person answering the 911 call, can also initiate a page to us, as they collect information from the caller using ProQA software.

Consisting of 34 members,  manning 4 main line engines (1 reserve engine), 4 responders, 1 rescue truck, 1 medic, and 2 command vehicle's. We all come from different lines of work, from engineers, utilities worker, plumbers, flight nurses, 911 dispatchers, teachers, business owners, and many others. The members of Moores Mill Volunteer Fire Rescue are proud to serve with the up most professionalism.

Since 1977 the growth of our community with new neighborhoods and commercial businesses has increased our number of calls per year. Moores Mill responds to a diversified number of calls that include:

  • Fire Suppression

  • Emergency Medical Response

  • Rescue / Special Operations

  • Fire Prevention Education

  • Fire Safety Inspections

  • Service Calls (i.e. road obstructions, power lines down, natural disasters)

  • Hazardous Material Mitigation

  • Mutual Aid with New Market, Meridianville, Hazel Green, Central, Killingsworth Cove, Gurley, Redstone Arsenal Fire & Emergency Services, Madison Fire, Huntsville Fire, Huntsville-Madison County Rescue Squad on a day to day basis, and HEMSI on emergency medical services.
